A Drop of Freedom

His head, bowed down,

Chained to the floor, in shackles,

Wrists cut and bleeding, chains, rusted and brown,

A drop of freedom, and with it, many unbeknownst battles

Came battles countless, bereft of war cries,

Come the greatest lows, then lower some further,

Bonds broke, and then, love lied,

Kinships died, felt like murder

The gentle sun then warmed his back,

As ever so slowly he floated and rose,

O sweet liberation, rid of the pack,

Basking in that ethereal glow
